Ohio Launches Hard Cider Trail — But Did They Miss a Few Cideries?

Ohio Hard Cider Trail Launches for America’s 250th Celebration

Ohio just launched its first-ever Hard Cider Trail, a statewide passport adventure running now through December 1, 2026, and it’s a genuinely exciting development for anyone who’s been watching Ohio’s cider scene quietly grow over the past decade.

The trail, unveiled by the Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Liquor Control as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, connects 14 cideries across the Buckeye State. Visitors collect stamps along the way, and those who complete six or more stops can earn a limited-edition commemorative bottle opener coin.

Very Ciderville.

The official trail includes destinations such as Spring Hill Cider Works, TinCap Hard Cider and Taproom, Hellbranch Cider Co., Henmick Farm & Brewery, and West End Ciderhouse Tavern, among others spread throughout Ohio.

But here’s where things get interesting for those of us who know Ohio cider beyond the press release.

One stop worth adding to your itinerary is Bent Ladder, a family-owned orchard and cidery in Doylestown. A participant in the #ciderGoingUP campaign, Bent Ladder has built a reputation for orchard-driven ciders rooted in generations of fruit growing. If you’re traveling through northeast Ohio, it’s exactly the kind of destination that rewards taking the scenic route. Hear Bent Ladder on Cider Chat Episode 392

Another cidery to consider is D.O.P.E. Cider House & Winery in Youngstown. Founded by Hannah Ferguson, who was featured on Cider Chat Episode 310, DOPE has become one of the most distinctive voices in Ohio cider. Their focus on community, culture, and expanding who sees themselves reflected in the cider world has made them a destination worth seeking out.

Ohio has more cider makers than any single passport can capture…and that’s not a criticism, it’s an opportunity.

Consider this your invitation to go off-trail.

You can download the free Ohio Hard Cider Trail passport through the Ohio Department of Commerce. And if you’re looking for even more cider destinations worth discovering, be sure to keep an eye on the #ciderGoingUP listings here at CiderChat.com.
