World Cider Day which is held annually on June 3rd came and went on, but don’t worry if it slipped past your radar. Unlike many beverage celebrations that arrive and disappear in a flash, cider’s summer calendar is packed with festivals, competitions, tastings, and traditions that stretch from June into autumn.

In fact, some of the most iconic cider gatherings in the world are still ahead.
Cider June
Early June brings the Preba de la Sidra in Oviedo, Spain, where Asturian cider culture takes center stage. The annual event celebrates traditional sidra with tastings, competitions, and plenty of opportunities to witness the dramatic high-pour service that has become synonymous with the region.
Later this month, North America offers two notable stops. The Northwest Cider Cup in Portland, Oregon on June 25th, showcases some of the finest cider being produced across the Pacific Northwest, while Soif de Cidre in Montréal June 26-27, highlights Quebec’s vibrant cider scene with makers, tastings, and educational programming.
Cider July
The second weekend of the month features the Festival de la Sidra de Nava (Nava Natural Sidra Festival), one of Spain’s most celebrated cider festivals. It was started in 1969! For many cider enthusiasts, a visit to Nava is considered a pilgrimage. Producers, musicians, locals, and visitors gather in a town that proudly calls itself the cider capital of Asturias.
Across the Atlantic, Bristol Cider Week returns July 25 to August 3, 2026 The city has become one of the United Kingdom’s most dynamic cider hubs, and the weeklong celebration offers everything from orchard tours and tastings to cider-focused dinners and cultural events.
Then comes one of the largest cider celebrations anywhere in the world.
Cider August
The Fiesta de la Sidra Natural de Gijón, held during August 20-30, 2026, attracts thousands of visitors. The festival is perhaps best known for its Guinness World Record attempt for the largest simultaneous cider pour—a spectacle that transforms an entire city into a celebration of cider culture.
Cider September
And while August closes with the Fiesta de la Sidra Natural de Gijón, cider season doesn’t stop when the calendar turns to September. In the Northerm Hemisphere the harvest celebrations begin appearing across Europe and North America as orchards come alive with apple picking, fresh pressing, and the first signs of the new cider year.
One iconic festival to put on you bucket list is…
The Ross Cider Festival brings together cider makers, orchardists, and cider enthusiasts in one of England’s historic cider-producing regions. Hosted by Ross Cider & Perry Company, the event celebrates traditional cider culture with tastings, music, food, and a strong connection to the orchards that continue to define the area’s cider heritage
These are only a handful of the recurring events that mark the cider calendar. Every region seems to have its own traditions, from harvest festivals and wassails to cider salons, tasting competitions, and orchard gatherings.
Which brings us to a question for Ciderville:
What annual cider event belongs on every cider lover’s bucket list?
Whether it’s a festival in Chile celebrating chicha, a regional cider week in the UK, a harvest gathering in France, or a beloved local tradition closer to home, we’d love to hear about it.
